Harwich shortlisted for Turnaround Port of the Year

We are delighted to announce that Harwich International Port has been shortlisted for Turnaround Port of the Year.

Costa Cruise Ship at Harwich

Being shortlisted is recognition for the significant investment that Harwich have made in the past year on a bespoke state of the art cruise passenger gangway, along with substantial improvements to the security screening area to cater for larger ships.

Harwich International Port invested £3m in the terminal this year with a new state of the art bespoke passenger gangway which provides a modern and improved passenger access between the cruise terminal and cruise ships of all sizes. The passenger walkway allows embarkation and disembarkation in an air-conditioned, safe and secure manner, unaffected by adverse English summer weather or tidal ranges. In addition, the security screening area has been increased with the addition of a third baggage scanner and security archway.

Harwich International Port is dedicated to offering excellent customer service and a warm welcome to its turnaround customers.

The other shortlisted ports for this award are ABP Port of Southampton and Venezia Terminal Passeggeri and the winning port will be announced at the Seatrade Europe exhibition in Hamburg on Tuesday 15 September.
