Turnarounds -
The present million pound Cruise Terminal was officially opened
in 1996 signalling Harwich International Port's committment
to the cruise sector. It has seen huge growth in calls since
coming into operation and now regularly services North Cape,
Scandanavian, Baltic, round Britain and Mediterranean itineries.
Excellent facilities are provided to ensure that all passengers
receive a seamless journey to and from the vessel. Adjacent
to the terminal building is the coach park with a capacity
for 60 coaches and secure parking for up to 400 vehicles - areas
regularly serviced by a shuttle bus, baggage handling and
porterage services.
There are 20 check in positions manned by experienced,
warm, friendly staff to help whenever needed.
A comfortable lounge is available seating 300 with access to
toiletes, a cafe serving high quality refreshments, newsagents
and exchange bureau. |

Transit - Coach Parking alongside the
ship is readily available to ensure swift disembarkation. Independent
passengers can take advantage of a special shopping bus into
one of the region's commerical centres. Alternatively free rail
travel into the heart of Harwich Old Town is offered. Only a
small stop away passengers can spend a few hours discovering
its maritime historical connections, which the townspeople have
proudly retained. For the benefit of independent passengers
and crew alike, The Haven Gateway Partnership is offering sponsored complimentary
short guided walking tours of the sights, accompanied by
members of The
Harwich Society. In addition, to assist crew a
special complimentary coach service to the nearby shopping area
of Dovercourt and informative leaflet will be made available.
Harwich International Port is superbly
situated; London (Stansted) Airport is within easy reach of Harwich
(50 minutes by car or taxi) with Heathrow and Gatwick being only 2
hours drive away. Harwich is just 69 miles from London, via
the A12 and the recently upgraded A14 also gives direct access
to the Midlands and the northern motorway network. Using Harwich International
Station (sited next to the terminal building), regular service connections
to London (70 minutes) are available. See Train Information , 2006 Cruise Schedule
